About Us

In 1977, Richard Martin and his three sons began Uni-Foundations with the purchase of a set of 8 foot aluminum forms. Uni-Foundations became the first poured wall company in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and in Washington County Maryland.

At that time it also became one of the first poured wall contractors in the East to use a crane to load and unload forms.

In 1997, Richard Martin, sold his equipment to Dave Detweiler. In 1999, Uni-Foundations replaced its original set of forms with a set of forms that would allow more versatility in the changing marketplace. In 2001, Uni-Foundations purchased its first set of 9 foot forms. Since then Uni-Foundations has purchased numerous sets of forms in varying heights to better meet the needs of its customers. In 2003, Dave’s son-in-law, Brian Wenger and son Dirk became part owners of Uni-Foundations. In 1999, Uni-Foundations purchased a CAD program by the name of Auto Crete which allowed them to redraw all prints. This allowed them to check for mistakes, then it allowed them to use this drawing for information specific to their footers. It also gave them information on quantity of forms needed for walls, as well as location of these forms and the size of the fillers needed. In 2003, Uni-Foundations purchased a Robotic Total Station from Trimble. By entering information from their Auto Crete program into the Total Station keypad, one man can do their layout work with better accuracy than possible with manual layout. In 2004, Uni-Foundations purchased a Telebelt for placement of concrete in walls and footers, as well as placement of stone. The telebelt is available for rental and will handle up to 4 inch rock.

Their goal is to continue to utilize new technology, products, and services to better meet the needs of their customers in the present as well as the future.
